About the ZACC Printshop

THE ZACC PRINTSHOP MISSION STATEMENT

The Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) established the ZACC Printshop to provide our community with a resource for the creating and sharing of art, ideas and, information through printmaking. The ZACC Printshop is Montana’s only public print-shop that offers equipment, educational opportunities, and support of the printing arts.

GOALS
Our goals are to:

-Provide economical access for artists and non-artists to the equipment and skills required for the art of printmaking.
- Offer affordable community access to printing arts to promote freedom of expression in the community by its own media.
-Empower artists with new skills to promote their personal artistic development.
-Promote printmaking as a fine-art medium and increase community awareness of printmaking mediums and applications.
PROGRAMS
In support of our goals we run these programs:

Studio Access
We feature an open studio that is available for use at any time. Our studio features equipment that supports a wide variety of processes including silk-screening for both fabric and fine art purposes as well as a wide range of relief, intaglio, and lithographic processes. We have a silkscreen poster press, three portable silkscreen presses, and a 16” by 32” Conrad Machine Combination Press.

Education
Since all printmaking requires a certain technical skill level to be successful, a large feature of our studio is education. In addition to multiple in-depth classes on specific processes, we offer at any time personal silkscreen workshops that teach the basics needed to get started.

Support for Printmaking
The ZPS runs programming to support printmaking as a fine art medium in our community. We have in host an annual festival celebrating printmaking and local printmakers. Also, we are collect and maintain an archive of prints created at the ZPS and in conjunction with the ZPS to save for the future.

The ZACC Printshop’s mission is to support and advance the art of printmaking in all its forms.
